Christian Louboutin Bridget Strass

I am so in love with Christian Louboutin right now. He creates such beautiful shoes. These “Bridget Strass” Louboutin pumps were worn by J. Lo at the VMAs, but I was so taken back by her choice of dress, that I did not catch these beauties…and believe me, I’m upset about it. These gorgeous creations have been spotted on Khloe Kardashian, Scarlett Johannsen, Leelee Sobieski, and will be worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the Sex in the City sequel. I love texture and contrast, so these Bridget pumps are right up my alley. I first saw and fell in love with the gold pair, but then saw the leopard pair and wish to have both. The leopard pair can be purchased from Barney’s for $1795.

So, I know I just spoke about these in the Emmy post. But I wanted to show you all the other FAB babies that were created through the collaboration of Louboutin and Marchesa. Hope you love them as much as I do. If I could, I would have all 3 pair!

The Emmy’s were last night and overall, the red carpet did not wow me. There were a few dresses I liked , and so I have decided to share them with you. I was able to find most of the designers, but I am missing a couple. So far Marchesa is leading in most successful pieces on the carpet. Kudos to Marchesa for embodying such delicacy and femininity. Speaking of Marchesa, it reminds me that I spotted (courtesy of The Lipstick Diaries) a pair of gorgeous transparent shoes from Christian Louboutin. Louboutin has teamed up with Marchesa for the 2010 spring collection and is doing it B.I.G. Be looking for them.

Now, there once was a time when the red carpet at such an event as The Emmy’s, would be filled with elegant and sexy gowns that we would kill to be in. However, this award show did not do it for me. I did pick some gowns I found to have character and be the best that I saw. Let me know what you think.

Found these ladies to glamorous in their long evening gowns, but felt Byrne should have had a chignon or waved tresses for her Valentino.

***I apologize for the Louboutin Marchesa plug-in, but I felt it was only right as I was discovering how many hitters Marchesa had on the carpet!

The weather is changing and I am excited! I absolutely adore fall fashions and all that it brings. Fall is about layering and pairing those summer finds you couldn’t wait to use for slightly cooler weather. If you’re anything like me you might be a tad bit wound up about the fall fashions and not know where to begin. Personally, I am beginning with outer wear, and decided to help you get started! This season holds a plethora of jackets and blazers of many different styles. Whether you are looking for your leather biker jacket, boyfriend blazer, or denim throw-on its waiting to be found and rocked by you. I journeyed to Topshop to gather some ideas to show you all. This season embellishments and exaggerated shoulders are FAB! I have always been into personalizing my pieces, so this season should be fun. Embellishments and exaggerated shoulders do not just apply to outer wear, but clothes as well. The one shoulder dress and exaggerated shoulder top are also popular trends. However, I picked a few pieces from Topshop that I found to portray this season’s outer wear necessities. Remember, trends are simply that and should be a guide. Individuality is key…you never want to look like anyone other than yourself!

If this isn't bejeweled enough for you, I don't know what is...lol

Out and About in the City

Out and About in the City

There has been talk that Rihanna and Chris Brown have been trying to take a vacay together, so their absense at last nights events made me wonder. That was until the photos surfaced that RiRi was in the city…out and about. She also attended the VMA afterpartys. I have not found out where Mr. Brown was for the evening as the VMAs were happening.

Mis Rihanna is working on her new album that is said to be angrier and edgier. Ne-Yo and RiRi have been in the studio and writing hit makers as well as Akon. Well then Miss RiRi, get to work, let your haters inspire you. Looking fab, as usual, on a NY Sunday. Was hoping to see you at the awards, but we have plenty of time for that!

Pink and Shakira

Pink and Shakira

Both of these ladies are extremely talented and Pink rocked her performance on last night’s VMAs, but I think neither one of them got the memo that the dress was already set to be debuted last night.  Iwant to hear from you all who wore it the best.

What an AWESOME way to close out the show!

"Empire State of Mind"

Last night’s VMAs has to rank as the best show we have seen in awhile. From the fashions to the actions to the stage, I was thoroughly entertained. There is so much to talk about; I don’t know where to begin. For those of you who missed the award winners, here is a recap:

  • Video of the Year: Beyonce  “Single Ladies(Put a Ring On It)”
  • Best New Artist: Lady Gaga “Poker Face”
  • Best Hip-Hop Video: Eminem “We Made You”
  • Best Male Video: T.I. ft. Rihanna “Live Your Life”
  • Best Pop Video: Britney Spears “Womanizer”
  • Best Rock Video: Green Day “21 Guns”
  • Best Female Video: Taylor Swift “You Belong With Me”

Congratulations to all of them. I believe that everyone won in their own rightful places. Now, I did not want to discuss the “Kanye Catastrophe,” but I have to. When I saw him up there, I thought he was going to make a joke of it and actually congratulate Taylor. However, he decided to be Kanye and steal her joy as well as embarrass Beyonce. Some are using Kanye’s alcohol level (seen on the red carpet with a bottle of Hennessey) as an excuse for his behavior, but I am not! Alcohol is never a reason for anything. I am sure many of us thought B should have gotten the award, but then I started to really think about it. Taylor Swift is a country pop artist and winning best female was only right. I adore the girl and the growth and change she has made in her career thus far, kudos Taylor. I think everyone is forgetting that video of the year trumps all the rest. Of course Beyonce could have won best female, but she is best of the year, which means she could have won in all the other categories that she was up for. I love both of these beautiful ladies and commend Beyonce for allowing Taylor to get her dream back.

The Lovely Winning Ladies

The Lovely Winning Ladies

As for fashions, there was so much I oogled over last night, and some things I was disturbed by (Lady Gaga’s face coverings). I was able to find quite a bit of the red carpet happenings, thanks to MTV.  Beyonce looked sexy yet refined as always. I love that she went for red, and I adored the pockets on her dress. I would also like to give kudos to B’s lace bejeweled leotard she performed in. FAB! Wonder if Mrs. Knowles is the designer. Taylor Swift is my favorite new comer and she looked gorgeous in her backless dress. She was tastefully sexy and the single beaded strap was what made it that way. The City’s, Whitney Port, was simplistically elegant as usual. I have always watched and admired Whitney’s style ever since she debuted on The Hills. Her style was what also landed her own show.  Whitney gets best dressed out of the The Hills and The City gal pals. Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, and Olivia Palermo all looked nice, but had nothing on Whitney.  Kristin’s dress might have tickled some fancies, but I couldn’t get with the shoes and the dress as an ensemble.

Many celebs chose classic black for the evening. Ne-Yo and Swizz Beatz both looked handsome and clean cut in their all black attire.  Nelly Furtado, Madonna, and Alicia Keys were the exquisite ladies in black. Nelly’s dress was beautiful with what appeared to be black studs; and reminded me of the Givenchy Studded Zipper Sandals from yesterday’s post. Madonna needs no fancy dress or accessories, because she has time on her side. I really believe she has found the fountain of youth. I adore Alicia’s red carpet dress, but it was her performance ensemble that I loved. Glitter tights with a simple black tunic-tee, metal chunked necklace, and shoes to die for. Alicia is one classy lady, you have to love her. As for celebrities in black, the much anticipated Dirty Money clan was not so fortunate on how their attire turned out. This was awkward for me as I am used to the Diddy that must have everything PERFECT! The girls were kind of thrown together and Diddy could have come with a little more flava. I just was not impressed by a group that is to debut an album soon. Ah ha! Maybe the album has them under stress and the VMAs were the least of their worries. Let’s just hope.  As for Miss Solange, she looked radiant in her one-sleeved ribbon ruffled dress. The Barbie pink lips have been her new thing since the new do and I love it. Kid Kudi who is adorabley handsome was also in the building.

Before we go into my fashion flops and oh so ordinary, I have to mention Katy Perry and Leighton Meester’s metallic attire. Katy Perry has a great body so she killed in her armor inspired silver dress. As for those celebs who just seemed to be present, I have a few. Amarie and Cassie are both known for their hair and showing off their legs. Amarie has dwindled into just another pretty girl and Cassie just needs attention. J Lo’s dress did not win it for me. I sometimes think celebs, or their stylist, forget that when you want to make a statement or stand out, you still must be FASHIONABLE! Amber Rose showed up in a printed bodysuit with gold accessories and Miss Keri Baby decided to go with a black embroidered jumpsuit with a new do. I like the cat suit idea for Amber, but I kind of feel something was missing. I adored Keri’s hair and her look all together. I give the plunge and bodysuit award to Keri and ask that Dawn (of Dirty Money) and Amber Rose please try again next year.

All-in-all, the show was a success minus a few flukes (Kanye and Lil Mama). The show was closed out with what I saw as perfection. Jay-Z and Alicia set the tone and was the cherry on top. “Empire State of Mind” is a genius song simply because it is so true; New York City is so inspiring.

I could sit and write all day on last night’s fashions and events, but I am sure you all have read enough. I warned you all with last week’s post that the VMAs were coming and in full effect. I hope you all enjoyed, I sure did!

These ultra studded Givenchy zipper sandals are FAB and the beauties are studded everywhere except the soles! The sandals feature a zipper up the front of the shoe with a loop handle . If you aren’t in love with these, I don’t know what to say to you. The sandals are priced at $1,350.00 and are the reason they are on the wish list. As soon as I run across 1300 lying around, they will be owned *wink*
